How a Atlanta ghost tour works

  1. 1

    Pick your night

Ghost tours run after dark and the good ones sell out on weekends. Check the widget above for what is actually running while you are in Atlanta.

  2. 2

    Book with free cancellation

Most of these can be cancelled up to 24 hours before, so booking early costs nothing and holding out costs you the good guide.

  3. 3

    Turn up where they say

This one meets at Meet your guide outside SEBASTIAN PINTXOS BAR, 818 Juniper St NE, Atlanta, GA 30308.

  4. 4

    Wear the right shoes

You will be walking on old, uneven, badly lit ground for an hour or more. It is the advice every operator gives and most visitors ignore.

Big city, small bench

A thin bench in a large city

Atlanta's population is not matched by its ghost-tour supply, and that is worth saying.

Size is not supply

Atlanta is one of the largest cities on this site and has one of the smallest bookable ghost-tour benches. Big city, thin field - so the question is not which tour but whether the one that exists is well reviewed. The card below answers that.

The history is there

Oakland Cemetery, the 1917 fire and the burning of the city in 1864 are all genuine material. The tour market has simply not built much on them, which is a gap rather than an absence of subject.

Judge the operator

Where a single product holds a format, review depth matters more than the description, and a thin sample is unproven rather than poor. It also means there is no second opinion available: in Charleston you can read one operator against another, and in Atlanta you cannot. Book on the review count, and treat the absence of alternatives as the thing you are actually accepting.

What a night here actually costs

Atlanta's one bookable tour starts at $30, against a national ghost-tour median of $30 measured across 208 products. That puts Atlanta squarely in the typical band. The middle half of all ghost tours runs $25 to $39.25, this city sits inside it, and price is therefore not the variable worth optimising here. With a single bookable product there is no comparison to make, and the review depth on the card is the only signal worth reading. Treat a thin sample as unproven rather than poor. We feature the tour we can evidence: 5 verified reviews, quoted below in the guests' own words.

Monique was an amazing guide and the kindest person! She was very knowledgeable about the area and supernatural happening. She also gave a lot of advice on other places to visit. Would definitely do the tour again or any that is lead by Monique:)

Loved it! My guide was energetic and passionate about history and storytelling which led to a great experience. She allowed me to ask a lot of questions which made the tour more personable. I learned a lot and also had fun while seeing some cool places.

The tour was slightly deceiving: being called a "Pub Crawl" I assumed we'd be stopping at multiple bars/restaurants and learning the history of those establishments as well as having the option to get a drink. There were only 2 bars, one of which we didn't even go into. The rest of the tour was just walking.
